“In the window of Lucky Street is the maquette for the 26-foot sculpture of aluminum poles now on display at Fort Taylor. In the past few years, Rodgers has constructed several large, outdoow sculptures, three for Key West. The circle rather than the grid is the controlling form for these. The severe forms and restricted material of these structures are then energized by the light, the wind, the sky - delighting the audience. Truly, led by the hand and eye of Rodgers, the viewer - like Wordsworth’s bee - ‘will murmur by the hour in foxglove bells.’
